Founder’s Message
I spent 22 years living overseas, most of it in the car trade. Working with clients across different countries taught me one simple truth: no matter the culture, business always comes down to being someone people trust.
After I returned to Japan, friends and clients I’d worked with for years started asking me to help them find cars here, and to be someone they could buy through with confidence. That’s how Japasta Trading began, in 2021.
Since then, we’ve grown almost entirely through referrals. Along the way, I kept hearing the same frustration: when several brokers stand between a Japanese seller and the buyer, information that should be simple turns unclear.
So I built Japasta to manage the Japan side ourselves, and to tell clients exactly what we know, as soon as we know it. Not just the good news. If something’s delayed, we say so.
That matters just as much to our dealer partners. When they get accurate information from us, they can speak to their own customers with the same confidence.
The Crest
My family has passed down a set of house precepts for generations. They’re not business principles, just how I’ve tried to treat people. It’s why the Japasta Bespoke emblem carries my family’s crest.
- Wish it, and it comes true. Commit to it, and it’s done.
- Don’t speak ill of others, and don’t listen to it. Hear people out instead.
- Forget what you’ve done for others. Never forget what they’ve done for you.
- Don’t dwell on what you lack. Know what you already have.
- Only the strong can afford to be kind.
“Bespoke” means built around one person. We listen, search, verify, and buy, then stay with each client long after the car ships. That won’t change as we grow.
